Susan Foley is the founder of Corporate Entrepreneurs LLC a management consulting firm focused on Corporate Entrepreneurship, Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation Growth.� Susan helps organizations identify and develop their internal entrepreneurs. Then works with them to build the entrepreneurial infrastructure needed to support innovation, accelerating the speed of growth. As an experienced corporate entrepreneur Susan understands the challenges of building corporate entrepreneurship inside of an established organization. She has spent the last twenty five years helping organizations develop new growth businesses that have generated millions. Susan is a professional speaker, consultant and author of the book Entrepreneurs Inside. She teaches Corporate Entrepreneurship in the Executive Education program at Babson College and is a Fellow at the Center for Innovation and Change Leadership at Suffolk University.

Excellent insight into the world of the Corporate Entrepreneur

The author comes from a long heritage of corporate entrepreneurship (i.e., those people who start and grow very successful businesses from *within* companies rather than from scratch). Over the past several years she has been able to help deepen our understanding of who these critical people are, how they're wired together, and most importantly how can such people effectively "spread their wings" in much larger organizations in ways that propels to whole enterprise forward.
In the end, these are the people that you may not necessarily want managing a highly mature, steady-state business (and I thought that at one time about the now bankrupt Hostess Corporation!), but they are equally critical for the future of the whole enterprise. Ms. Foley provides both a framework and an highly effective assessment tool called the "Corporate Entrepreneurial Profile", which is very helpful in enabling the reader to determine where they fit in all this. This reviewer speaks from experience, having taken the survey in the past and found it an important guidepost to help navigate through his own corporate entrepreneurial journeys.

Inspirational

As an Internal entrepreneur, I found Acceleration to be very insightful and to the point in what it takes to build and grow within an organization. The Vision and Mission need to be clear and consistent. Susan is spot on in her approach and direction in building an environment that fosters creativity and allows for incubation groups to spawn new growth opportunities. Even when we have divisions that are growing, we open doors to individuals that want to and have the ability to step aside from the status quo and try new lines of business, new markets, new opportunities. As part of a larger operation, without attempts at new opportunities and developing staff to take on those roles, we would not be the company we are today.
